8:21 23 raffle ticket stubs to be sent to the state lodge with check for $460.00.
8:24 New business: Mark Weston ex-Clay Twp PD officer has a wife diagnosed with cancer. Motion to donate $500.00 approved.
8:26 Mike Scheufelt gave information on Cub Scout Pack 222. Request for $400.00 for expenses for this year approved by motion & vote.
8:30 Al Lapham announced a Texas Hold'em Tournament to be held on October 22nd at the Roadhouse. Starting time 1:00 PM until ? 50-80 player maximum with $30 buy-in. 5 - 10 dealers needed from the membership. Show up early if interested.
8:40 Member Ed Janowicz requested financial help for his brother with cancer. Motion to donate $500.00 approved.
8:45 50-50 proceeds 90.00 to winner $95.00 to lodge.
8:46 Bowl-a-thon tentative date December 3rd.
8:48 Art Owczarzak gave info on proposed anti-gun bills in Congress. Sen. Carl Levin wants to allow nationwide vote for felons. Anyone interested in non-mainstream media political information - Mark LeVin is on 760 AM from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
8:55 50-50 drawing- winner Ed Janowicz. Ed won $90.00 and graciously donated $50 back to the lodge. Thanks Ed!

8:20 Distinguished guests present: John Kirkpatrick, FOP State Lodge Pres., Mike Lake, State Lodge Trustee.
8:22 Reading of August minutes by Pres. Montville.
8:25 Letter to State Lodge read by Herm. This letter pertains to communication problems with the State Lodge regarding the raffle tickets, etc.
8:30 Presentation by State Lodge Pres. Kirkpatrick regarding our problems with the parent organization. Problems to be resolved per Pres. Kirkpatrick.
8:40 Old business: Saturday September 9th is the designated day for the roadside trash pickup. Thanks to all those that participated.
8:45 Fee waived for I-IS.com website by Brian Beaver.
8:46 New business - letter from Christy family requesting membership in our lodge. They are relatives of our lodge namesake. Herm to respond.
8:55 Herm read the Kings IGA letter of appreciation submitted to the Voice and Times Herald newspapers for Bill King for all his civic involvement throughout the years.
8:58 This is an election year for Lodge #185 officers. Anyone interested in running should make it known.
9:00 Art Owczarzak gave info on the U.S. Border patrol agents convicted in Texas and their up coming sentencing for what appears to be doing their jobs.

9:10 State Lodge endorsement explained by Pres. Kirkpatrick. The lodge endorses Mike Cox for Attorney General and Michael Bouchard for U.S. Senate. Gov. Granholm is also endorsed for re election. Pres. Kirkpatrick explained that these endorsement are predicated on their stands on law enforcement issues of importance to the FOP: Garrity Bill - both gubernatorial candidates will endorse this bill. Gov. Granholm will also sign an Act 312 continuance. DeVos appears opposed to this measure.
